Injectable Treatments Guide

A complete, nurse-led guide to cosmetic injectables — neurotoxins, dermal fillers, lip fillers, and biostimulators — for clients in Greater Sudbury. What each does, how they differ, and how we combine them.

Overview

Start here

Injectable treatments are a broad category. They include neurotoxins (Botox, Dysport) that soften expression lines, hyaluronic acid dermal fillers that restore volume and contour, lip fillers that add shape and definition, and biostimulators that support the skin's own collagen production over time.

They're often talked about interchangeably online, but they do very different things. Understanding what each treatment is designed for makes it much easier to build a plan that actually matches your goals — and to avoid over-treating.

How injectables work together

Neurotoxins and fillers address different problems. Neurotoxins reduce muscle-driven lines (forehead, 11s, crow's feet). Fillers restore volume or structure (cheeks, chin, jawline, lips, tear troughs). Most clients use one or the other; some benefit from a combination. A consultation is where we map your goals to the treatment — not the other way around.

Realistic expectations for first-time clients

The best injectable results are usually the ones you don't notice as 'work.' We treat conservatively on a first visit, especially for lip filler, and prefer building gradually over one to two appointments. That's how we protect natural expression and give the tissues time to adapt.

FAQ

Frequently Asked

Do injectables hurt?

Most clients tolerate treatment well. Topical numbing, ice, and cannula technique (for fillers) are used where appropriate to keep you comfortable.

Can fillers be dissolved?

Hyaluronic acid fillers can be dissolved with hyaluronidase when clinically indicated. This is one reason we favour HA products for first-time clients.

Can I have injectables while pregnant or breastfeeding?

No. Cosmetic injectables are not offered during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

How do I book a consultation?

All consultations are booked online through JaneApp.

Ready to talk it through?

Book a consultation with Joanna Ferris, RN, at our Lively clinic.
