Dysport in Sudbury

Dysport and Botox belong to the same drug family, but they are not interchangeable unit-for-unit. Dysport is dosed in its own units, and roughly 2.5–3 Dysport units are considered equivalent to 1 Botox unit. That does not make Dysport 'weaker' or 'stronger' — it just means the dosing math is different, which is why a nurse-led, custom dose matters more than the brand name.

Dysport tends to have a slightly faster onset (many clients see change in 2–3 days) and a slightly wider diffusion pattern. That diffusion makes it well-suited to broader treatment areas like the forehead, where a smoother blend across the muscle is desirable. For very focal treatments — like a lip flip or precise brow shaping — a more localized product is often preferred.

Dysport is often a great fit for clients with strong forehead or frown muscles who want a smoother, more even result across the treated area. It is also worth considering if you have felt Botox took a little longer than you would have liked to 'kick in' — many clients notice Dysport at day two or three.

It is also a reasonable option for clients who have plateaued on their usual product. Rotating neuromodulators is not medically necessary, but some clients find that a change can freshen results after several years on the same product. Whether Dysport or Botox is the better fit for you is a decision that should be made together, based on your goals and history — not on a marketing preference.

Day 0 (treatment): Small raised bumps at each injection point are normal and settle within 15–30 minutes.

Days 1–2: Most clients feel normal; movement is not yet affected.

Days 2–3: Early onset — this is often when Dysport clients first notice change.

Days 5–7: Continued softening.

Days 10–14: Full effect. This is when we evaluate results at the two-week follow-up window.

Weeks 3–10: Peak plateau.

Weeks 10–16: Gradual return of movement. Most clients rebook a maintenance treatment around the 3–4 month mark.

Aftercare for Dysport is the same as for Botox: stay upright for 4 hours, no rubbing or massaging the treated areas, no strenuous exercise or heat exposure (saunas, hot yoga, hot tubs) for 24 hours, and avoid alcohol immediately before or after treatment to reduce bruising risk.
